UNITED NATIONS ENVIRONMENT PROGRAMME & NATURAL WORLD MUSEUM: Subhankar Banerjee collaborates closely with the NATURAL WORLD MUSEUM and the UNITED NATIONS ENVIRONMENT PROGRAMME through the ART FOR THE ENVIRONMENT initiative, by participating in various international exhibitions and symposiums. He believes art is a powerful agent of change, it makes us curious, and curiosity leads to engagement and conversation, which in turn may lead to action. No time in history has our ecological and cultural fabric been so degraded - we need new ethics and aesthetics of sustainability for all life on Earth. Subhankar received an inaugural GREENLEAF ARTIST AWARD from the United Nations Environment Programme. BLUE EARTH ALLIANCE: Subhankar Banerjee's ongoing Arctic photography is a project of BLUE EARTH ALLIANCE, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public about endangered cultures, threatened environments and social concerns through photography. By supporting the power of photographic storytelling, we motivate society to make positive change. SPEAK OUT: Subhankar Banerjee's educational outreach efforts are organized through Speak Out: Institute for Democratic Education and Culture. Speak Out is the country's only national non-profit organization that promotes progressive voices on campuses and in communities. Committed to social, political, cultural and economic justice, Speak Out encourages critical and imaginative thinking about domestic and international issues through artistic and educational forums nationwide. To schedule a lecture or an academic residency please contact SPEAK OUT: INSTITUTE FOR DEMOCRATIC EDUCATION AND CULTURE.
